Ryan Gosling La La Land Movie Is Not the Only One Making Waves Right Now

The Oscar season is fast approaching and Ryan Gosling La La Land movie is predicted to win the Best Picture category. However, aside from Gosling's movie, his supporters can't help but fall in love with his other version too: being a father to his two daughters and a loving partner to actress Eva Mendes.

La La Land got the Oscar's nod 14 times. Forbes reports that this number of nominations tie up the Damien Chazelle movie with All About Eve and Titanic. The two movies also reaped 14 nominations before.

La La Land vs Hidden Figures

The report notes that La La Land's strongest contender for the Best Picture cateogry will be Hidden Figures. This is because, per the source, the other movies competing for the same category are either from a small production like Manchester By The Sea. Moreover, some are almost done with their theatrical release like Mel Gibson's Hacksaw Ridge.

However, it is still anyone's ball game. Gosling and the rest of the world will only know when the Oscar officially hands over the trophies to its winners on February 26.

Ryan Gosling is a fun dad!

On the other hand, People Magazine had a chance to speak to insiders close to the Gosling household. The said insider revealed how The Notebook actor is as a father to his two daughters: Esmeralda Amada and Amada Lee. The latter source notes that the actor is a fun daddy.

"He’s always been like a kid at heart, so he’s a fun dad with lots of energy," said the source to the media outlet. On the other hand, the family wants to maintain their low-key lifestyle. Despite the Canadian actor's great career, they still remained in his bachelor pad. Moreover, they do not have any nanny to watch over the kids!

Another insider told the same publication that should the couple need an extra hand, Eva Mendes' family comes to their rescue. In addition, the couple prefers that their daughters do not live a life under the criticizing eyes of the media.

This move is probably best for the girls so that they can enjoy their childhood without the papparazzi's following them. On the other hand, women continue to swoon over Gosling and his boyish looks. Unfortunately, the deal has been sealed and Mendes has and will always have his heart. Well, we can all enjoy Ryan Gosling La La Land movie and drool there.

Seven Year Switch Season 2 Dustin and Kelsey Find One Another Interesting

FYI has just started a new reality show titled Seven Year Switch. They have switched four different couples who they think are most compatible with one another. They are to be part of the experiment for two weeks. After the experiment, they will make a decision whether they want to continue being married or will they opt out.

Seven Year Switch Season 2 update

Switch spouses Kelsey and Dustin are hitting it off really well. From the time they met, they both feel the attraction. Prior to meeting Dustin, Kelsey wants her husband to be a bit adventurous, in all aspects but most importantly, in their lovemaking.

Mail Online reports that Kelsey is already thinking ahead. According to the source, she admitted that she is "thinking long and hard" what it would be like to be intimate with her switch husband, Dustin. "Would Dustin be more fun and willing to try new and different things that James wouldn't be willing to try?" asked Kelsey.

Dustin, on the other hand, knows that his switch spouse wants "a bad boy." He concludes that Kelsey's husband, James will not be able to "please her." The media outlet reports that the former MMA fighter is beginning to feel that being alone with Kelsey is a challenge.

Meanwhile, Jaclyn and James are treating this experiment as two adults. They shared information about their marriage and details about their partners. For me, it is not evident between the two whether they feel a certain attraction to one another or not.

Us Weekly reports that while their respective spouses are having fun with the experience, Jaclyn is irritated with how Kelsey and Dustin are treating one another. Jaclyn admitted to James that she wants to "punch" Kelsey on the face especially when she finds out if James' wife touched her husband "multiple times." Meanwhile, James did not comment on the former's statement.

Are you curious about what will happen between Kelsey and Dustin? The Seven Year Switch will air its next episode on Tuesday, Jan. 31 at 9 p.m. on FYI.

Nick Viall's The Bachelor So Far...

Since I write a lot of trending topics lately, reality shows are included in the list. I notice that a lot of viewers prefer watching ABC's The Bachelor. The idea of a man searching for his partner in life is quite similar to what fairy tales were like when we were younger.

Nick Viall's The Bachelor Season 21 recap

Nick Viall's The Bachelor season started airing this January. ABC chose Nick over the other potential bachelors from their other reality shows, The Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise. Some were wary that this is Nick's third try to find his one true love. Reading through news reports, The Bachelor Season 21 was done differently.

Rather than 25 bachelorettes, the show had an additional five. Unfortunately, those bachelorettes were immediately dropped off from the first episode. After that, the battle to Nick's heart started. An immediate concern Nick saw was the presence of his one-night stand: Liz, the Doula.

They had their chance during Jill Tanner's wedding but Liz was not in a place where she was ready to date. They've put it off, no communication and then she appeared in Nick's The Bachelor season. The girls did not know about their past until Liz told Kristen. In one of the group dates, Liz sort of made her feelings known about their one-night stand nine months ago.

This worried Nick but he kept his composure until they had a chance to talk. In the end, Nick sent Liz home. This threw some of the girls off. Others were even contemplating whether they should leave the competition or not.

More The Bachelor Season 21 news

Meanwhile, the Liz-Nick issue was forgotten because of the show's villain, Corrine Olympios. The girls and viewers noticed how Corrine tries to take a portion of the girl's time with Nick for herself. A news article revealed that Corrine is just faking everything and is just following advice from the show. Her mom says so.

The Bachelor Season 21 will air their fifth episode on Monday, Jan. 30. In this episode, the battle between Corrine and the girls continue. However, the former is currently focused on one bachelorette, Taylor.

The promo teaser showed the only one between the two bachelorettes will remain. Who will Nick choose? Don't forget to watch The Bachelor's next episode on Monday, on ABC.

Razzies 2017 Nominations Increased; Ben Stiller's Zoolander and Ben Affleck's Batman Included

The Academy Awards will shortly release their nominees for the 2017 Oscars. Meanwhile, in true fashion, the Razzies announced theirs before the prestigious award-giving body. The Razzies nominees include Ben Stiller's Zoolander 2 and Ben Affleck's superhero movie, Batman.

Razzies 2017 nominations are out! Reuters reports that Zoolander 2 and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice were top contenders for the worst film made in 2016. Stiller's "fashion industry satire" movie reaped a total of eight nominations including worst director.

Meanwhile, another media outlet reports that apart from the Meet the Fockers actor, his co-stars, Will Ferrel and Owen Wilson were nominated for "worst supporting actors." On the other hand, Affleck's movie received nominations for worst film and worst actor category.

The award-giving body sadly reported that they had to increase the number of nominees from five to six. This is as if to convey a message that there were a lot of bad films were produced last year.

The publication reported that award-winning actor Robert De Niro's Dirty Grandpa is included in the list. The Razzies will announce their winner on Feb. 25, a day before the Oscars will award their much-coveted trophy.

I have not seen Zoolander 2 and even the first movie. I am not sure I will be a fan of those movies either. Well, let us see who between the two Bens will reap the most awards from the Razzies!

Stay tuned!

Thoughts about this blog ...

I have been busy with my online job(s) that I never get the chance to update my blog(s). After working as a web content writer, my 'Eureka' moment came when I least expected it - while eating spaghetti and rice one day.

I said to myself, why not create a blog that will let me write an overflow from my work. Say whut? I mean, there are days when you get to see a lot of topics online that you are itching to write about but can't do so with your present job.

Eureka
Rather than create a new blog (yet again), I thought why not re-purpose one of my blogs instead (nice! yah??!). Initially, I wanted this blog to be all about journalism and whatnot. However, I don't think I am credible enough to write about it. Since, I have not had any experience in the journalism field except when I was doing my summer job in university.

Maybe I will still have a few insights about journalism that I can safely write about. So, I am not really closing that door and maybe you will also see snippets of the novel I plan to work on too. Or you can also most of the novel writing from my other blog (yes, I have another one! I told you!).

So, let's see how this goes. I hope you will still follow my posts even if I write about KPop (yes), Celebrity gossips (err... yeah, if it matters to me) and more. Thanks for being with me and I wish we can still be together, despite the fact that I really write less these days.

Till my next post okay? This is one of my goals for 2017!!!

Goodbye JobsDB Philippines

I was surprised to find this email in my inbox.

I had a flashback of when I was still a fresh graduate way back 2000 (or was it 2001?). I have used this job search engine to look for jobs within Metro Manila. They were able to pair me up with job searches that is related to my field or based on what I have ticked on their checklist.

I have also used jobsDB when my husband announced that he wants to go back to the Philippines. I searched and see if there are any job opportunities that will suit my profile. I also read their articles about how to get the job and their job seeking tips. It also gave me a chance to see what the companies are looking for.

It was not just a one-sided search because I also used other job search engines like Jobstreet and Inquirer's as well.

Reading more about the notice, I commend them that they point their jobseekers to the other job search engine, Jobstreet. I like that kind of attitude. It seems there was no bitterness (but of course, this is just me reading the notice I received).

JobsDB will be closing the site on June 30, 2016. I guess it was a good fight.

Though it makes me think, what has changed with the hunting process done by job seekers and what do companies use now to get their ad out there?

The Blog is alive! It's alive! and a lesson learned for not asking (duh)

I did not think I would be coming back here since I have started this blog.

But hey, it has survived and I still cannot believe that I am still getting views on this blog so might as well put it into good use, right?

A lot of things have happened. We are now back in our home country for more than a year now. I have to say that I have somewhat adapted a laid back lifestyle which is something I need to break very soon (note: not doing me any good! LOL).

Since I have a lot of time in my hands, I am back to hunting work online. I think I have made this decision (a firm decision when to start) just on the start of this year. I told myself that this is the time that I need to focus on what I wanted to do and that is to work from home.

Just yesterday, I have opened up my OLX account and saw a response to a question I have sent regarding an online gig that I saw. The person said that there is no fee to register on the site and it promises an earning of a minimum of $200 it says. That was ka-ching! ka-ching for me so I thought I'd give it a try.

I entered my details and registered. When I registered, my ka-ching! ka-ching! thoughts were replaced with my oh my!

See!! It does not even have anything on the site and yet I was lured!!! Why?!!!

From what I gather on the website that I need to refer people and ask them to click to a link and have them register as well (action: banging my head).

I am not sure if you can categorise this as me being deceived because if there is one thing I did not do that is to ask more about what it's all about.

Now, I am registered member though I am not really confident that I can earn referrals more so because of the fact that I do not even know what the site is promoting about (double arrggh!).

So there, me registering without being a bit investigative about it (I really am wondering why I did that because I usually do a bit of research before even joining sites! My brain must be sleeping that time).

Well, what better way to say that this blog is alive --- promote a booboo you have just made (oh bummer)! However, if you think you can make money doing referrals, maybe you can click on this link and hit me up. Will appreciate it! Promise!

Lost...

I have decided to stop looking for online work at the time being and decided to focus on my family at the moment. Well, this mode of thinking was actually "on" for like two months already.

This was all brought about when we started planning for our family reunion in the Philippines. I thought I better put the online writing on hold for a while because we need to plan for a lot of things - places to go, restaurants to try and so much more.

Apart from that, we also had some renovations done for our home.

Now with all that in progress, I wasn't sure if I can go back to hunting online work again :( This is something that I would want to go back to for a long time now (I think I have put this off for more than two months now).

I guess I felt a bit sad that I lost one of my good clients.

Still, this should not stop me for looking!

I need to get back... sorry, just talking to myself.

Me.

Fake Phones

I just saw a news clip in one of the Arabianbusiness alerts that I receive that both Etisalat and Du will block services of people who uses fake phones (look here and here).

This (in my honest opinion) be good and bad for their business. I guess bad in the sense that people will find it difficult to make use of their super shiny fake phones and now have to buy the legit ones. For the telecommunication and mobile phone companies, this is good because they get to sell their products as per the price they wanted and the other bundle products that they have on offer.

To be honest, there is really no point in buying fake items. If you cannot afford to do straight payments, retail stores tied up with credit card companies and started offering customers with their installment plans. In this, you get to have the phone that you want in staggered payments that you can extend for 3, 6, 9 or 12 months if possible.

I mean what can cheap fake phones benefit the user? Aside from not knowing when will it bog down, there is no guarantee that you get the value of the money you have paid - this does not only apply to phones but for other items as well such as bags, watches and more.

I just don't understand people who sells fake items. I know this is good business especially for people who like to keep up with the Joneses but isn't this like misleading people too?

I hope the fake stuff be put into halt and small businesses with authentic items to promote will make it for next year.

Phones can be a good start to combat other fake items right? :)

Happy holidays!

Switched Off but not intentionally !

Hi again.... wow what a hiatus but this one is not my fault.

We have (again) just moved into another place and was not able to have internet for almost 2 weeks but before that I was not able to blog because we were busy looking for another place to live!

So, I am switching my thinking button and at the same time checking out possible online opportunities so that I can add up on my 'rainy days' savings!

I have not reached a $100 but this is my fault because I was so busy dealing with my emotions about other people that I neglect the other things - like my writing :(

Hopefully that ends now as I am in a different path and scheme!

====

Whilst looking for possible online opportunities, I just noticed that I keep seeing ads or job posts saying that they will pay writers for $1 / 500 words??! Seriously?! I think the dollar fits about 200 to 250 words max but for 500 words? Why?

I know a lot of people do this for a living and some of them need a starting ground (like me) but not for the dollar!

I think people who posts these kind of work should at least consider a few things like time and research. I mean, if you want a decent article, you also need to be realistic that people will be investing time and effort.

I guess just a bit frustrated in the sense that employers kind of overlooked the fact that people do this for a living since times are tough these days.

===
Rambling thoughts again... I guess this is also because of the fact that I just got out of being super duper sick to being moderately sick (and hungry too!). I am just waiting for hubby to come home so that we can eat dinner.

Oh! It still is the day - Merry Christmas! Ho! Ho! Ho!
